Java Fern Leaves

well i couldnt get a good picture, but the undersides of my lava fern leaves seem to be making new little java ferns i guess...little brown fuzzy extensions coming from the bottom of the leaves?...can i just pick them off or will that damage the plant? i dont want any more in my tank right now...

If you are really careful you can often remove them without damaging the leaf. I just find where it is attached and pinch it between my fingernails.
