Java Ferm Question

My java fern has what appear to be roots coming from the undersides of the leaves?

Is this normal?

Martin

i have tons of java fern, i think you might be talking about what im talking about. when java fern reproduces, new plants grow on the leaves, leave it a bit man it might start growing leaves. when these new baby plants get big enough they will detatch themselves from the main plant and float around the tank until the attatch to something else. just put them into the gravel and let them grow.

a bit of information from kurt here in australia :)

yea they do have a most unusual way of reprodusing they grow new plants on the end of leaves. i was amazed when i first saw it but its quite cool

Martin, did your Java fern look like this, before the roots started growing? (Please say "yes", because these spots on mine are a mystery to me..... did you read my topic here? http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=154070 )
