ok in one of my earlier post i said i was gunna try to take 2 fish out and jar them early somone said it would stunt their growth but i did it ne way and the the two i put in the jar are like 2x the size of the ones in the breeding tank any one think they know why whatever it is i like it
It's because of the pheremones...or lack of them. Betta fry release a pheremone that inhibits the growth of their siblings. That's why clean,clean water is so important. Being jarred,they no longer have to compete for food so that helps them grow as well. Glad it worked for ya. Be sure and keep their jars clean. I personally like to keep them in the grow out as long as possible because jars add up quick
