have been offered 2 more bosemani rainbows for my shoal and 2 jade eyed cichlids for my 3 clown loaches im looking to swap are the jade eyed cichlids compatiblie with my stock?

1 red severum
1 blue acara
2 kribs
2 angels
6 bosemani rainbows
pictus catfish
3 pearl gourami

Jade eye cichlid = Cichlasoma sajica???
if so they should be ok with everything but the angels and kribensis. They might bully these fish. If also depends on how big the tank is. In a 6ft tank they should all be fine together. In a 3ft tank there could be trouble with the acara and severum joining in.

tank is 4x2x2 not sure if thats the latin name of the fish on offer ( isnt that a t_bar cichlid? ) have emailed him back when he replies i will ask for pics

i dont think you have the room for it, if your tank was 5' long you may. You are pretty well stocked with your fish.

The tank is borderline. It is a good width and height but the kribs might get hassled if the jades start breeding. The severum and acara should be fine with them and the angels should have plenty of space too. The other fishes in the tank will be fine.
If you put lots of rocks/ flower pots and wood in the tank, then it should provide plenty of cover for everyone and they should be ok.

will be fine you are gettin rid of 3 clown loach so that can make up for the tbars they do not grow too arge but ur angels and kribs may get bullied

think i should deffo take the rainbows tho as he only has 2 and they like to school. the cichlids i dont know if they are a m/f pair or not all info i can find online says jade eyed cichlids only reach around 5" and are peaceful/quite shy

my kribs are well capabl;e of looking after themselves as they proved with the acara when he 1st went in the tank. they can hold their own . will hopefully get several opinions so i can weigh them all up and decide

for jade eyed cichlid this is the latin name im getting on pfk Cryptoheros spilurus

for jade eyed cichlid this is the latin name im getting on pfk Cryptoheros spilurus

'jade eye' is the common name given to both C.Sajicas and C.Spilurus

The main difference between them is that C. Spilurus lines are all vertical, where as C.Sajica have a Horizontal line aswell.
Both species are pretty much Convicts in costume,

I would personally just go for the 1, if they are a pair you will have big problems and even if they aren't they will probably end up fighting.

in my opinion either spilurum or sajicas should be ok and if your kribensis can hold their own, they should all get along great. I have had both species of cichlid and they are pretty peaceful and didn't cause any problems to the other fish they were kept with. These fish included barbs, tetras, rainbows and various catfish.
They breed pretty prolifically too so you will probably end up with young everywhere.

have spoken to the fella on the phone and from his description they are spirilus around 2" atm so still quite young and arw in a community tank i amg going to do the swap as if there are any probs i do have a 2nd tank i can set up if need be to isolate them
