hello i got 4 jacks and 2 are females and 2 are males i got that much its now currently 1hlaf inches to 2 inches .. and residing in my 90 gal with 8 tigerbarbs and 3 black ruby barbs (which i willmove soon enough into my 30 gal with my 6 cherrybarbs )and 2 common plecos and one rainbow shark and one gouramis who is old like 2years old its old to my standards all others died within a year .. this one is remaining of 16 i got thru out since i got him
ph is 7.2
everything else is fine dont ask about hardness of water i dont know..

the question is one of the female jack is all black i mean black with spots on tail .. never seen in 2 weeks i had her seen her get grey with blue spots like others beautiful bunch other 2 males do get black with moods as i noticed and turn blue when i feed them so they are warming up well in their enviroment .. one female stays grey never seen her go black.. so far it seems they paird off the blacker male stays with black with vibrate blue and other one goes black when scared i seen it and then goes grey when all is calm.. so its interesting to see that

i wanted to know if the black female will stay black i had read somewhere that its possible thta its a black strain of it or something if it had been a male woul dhave a vibrate blue spots on black she has on her tail only and bit in front of her face she a beauty .. petstore said htey had them for 2 weeks and they all looked healthy when i got them *(wal-mart ) i know u all dont like them i dont most often but fell in love with them with their coloring and they look the heatliest and still very healthy in my tank too

:good:

its very common for JDs to turn black/darker when breeding or stressed, being that they are too small to breed I would assume that shes the target of the other three's aggression. I have 6 FMs in a 55 gallon as part of a breeding project and you would think that the smallest would be the one to get picked on the most but its actually the second biggest one that is the target.

that what i thought at first but she was black when i got her at hte petshop and she still black when u look at her closely u can see that she actually black when the others that color up or turn black its different black thats why i was wondering if theres actually a black jack like blue jacks
