I was wondering if anyone has breed a Dempsey and a Blood Parrot and if so can they post a picture of the fry or describe what they look like?

well i have what i think is a jack dempsey X convict.. and parrots are close to convicts so i would assume it is possible..

dempseys are usually pretty aggressive though.. if you were to breed them you might have to use the divider method to be safe

well maybe i spose its possible. some idiot in another forum i go to tryied a JD x Oscar. needless to say it didnt work out

it's not that most parrots are not fertile. it is mainly the male who is not fertile. However, there is a fair number of males who are fertile based on the number of crossbreeds already created. Currently I know of a Texas/parrot pair that seem to be producing fertile eggs, they just aren't good parents yet.

if u find a fertile parrot and can pull it off without loseing one of the two, ill give ya thumbs up, but it sounds like the dempseys are pretty aggressive, you might want to condition the fish and get them in the breeding mood first, just a suggestion

Uh... couldn't they just create those crossbreeds using the females, who are generally fertile, rather than males? ;)
There have been reports of fertile males, but so far they are extremely rare.
