I've Gone Mad For Gourami Lately

I adore mine. I have 4 different pairs - honey, red robin, lavender and powder blue and they are lovely. One of my powders came with a really bad fungus but I cured him and that was about a month ago. It's a 55 gallon and I'm loving the size, the temprament, the ease of sexing etc. and thinking of adding a pearl pair and a thick lipped pair.

Can't decide if I like the opaline or not.

I'm not keen on the kissing or moonlight colouring much.
The chocolates are lovely but notoriously weak.
Golds get too big for my tank and are known to be aggressive.

What experiences have you had with the fish above?

No they are lilac mother of pearl very pearly lol with flashes of pale pearly lavender

If your thinking of getting pearls I would advise getting a trio as they'll do better. I have 2 males with a female and they get along besides sparring and getting at eachothers fins but nothing serious.

I have never heard of a lavender gourami before. It looks like a gold gourami to me from the lighting and colour.

It's not a gold, I've looked extensively into this lol
It's a hybrid, although perhaps not exactly what is described here http/www.labyrinthfish.info/lf/taxonomy.cfm?genusid=32 it's come from breeding 2 other types together and lavender is the result
