at the moment i have a fully cycled 10g tank with some snails, shrimp, and oto's and im awaiting my 2-3 dwarf puffers.

at the moemnt in the tank i have a play sand substare and am planning to put in some coloured sand to give it more colour and to make the subtrate level higher...at least 1 1/2 inch.

well what i have in the tank is fake plants and there not that great to be honest.
cat hair(stupid cat just wont leave the fish alone although the top is completly covered! he just lies on top of it all day, there my fish!)poop and other stuff gets stuck on them and its just a pain.

the only real plants i have are 4 amazon swords which i know are too big for a 10g but when they outgrow it i will sell them.

now what im looking for is to get rid of the fake plants and only have real plants and rock caves.

what i want to do is have something to cover the rocks like riccia but more common in lfs.

and then for the rest or most of the tank floor i want to cover it with some sort of grass.

ive been looking at java moss to cover the floor.

also maybe a couple of plants that just come out of the ground and take up space to make it look nice? :dunno: ....im kinda slow

what are all ur suggestions? what would u put in this 10g tank?

it has 1 flourescent light with 15wattes.
1.5 wpg

also im willing to get some root tabs, but no c02 injections. but i do have an air bubbler going? lol, im just a begginer please dont be 2 harsh, ive already read the sticky and now i want other ppls answers!

feeeeed me your knowledge im so hungry to learn!

also i would like to add that im a DIY kinda guy since i dont really have a job, so low funds would be ncie to hear.....thx!

I'd get some Java Moss as a bottom cover, and some Dwarf Saggitaria and Cryptocoryne Wendi (Spelling is wrong but close enough). They will grow well under the avaliable light, but I'd turn the air bubbler off; any surface disturbance removes CO2 from the water.

And in the future use the edit button rather than double posting.

alright thank you for you info, and u say that the air bubbler should be taken out? no rpoblem!

so if you eliminate all surface disturbance....and pump CO2 into the water....
What about the O2 the fish need?
Wheres it come from?

Walt

you'll never completely rid the tank of surface movement so won't lose the gaseous exchange...also remember that the plants will be giving off oxygen...
