My patience was worn thin, but it was worth it Tanks finally cycled and bettas are exploring their new territory I'll try and post some pics of them sometime this weekend

Congrats!! (seems like it was forever ago when you started that,took long enough!)

It did seem like forever 'cause I "wasted" 7 weeks cycling a 1 gallon that I ended up not using. It was a pain the you know what anyways. It was another 8 weeks before one of the minibows cycled. The other minibow took 6 weeks to cycle, but I had bought that one two weeks after the first one, so they both ended up cycled around the same time B)

We attempted to resist naming them yet, but caved in quickly We named one "Homer" and they other "Duff"

They both seem to have adjusted well and didn't decline any food last night or this morning
Duff is pretty laid back, enjoys swimming through his plants and seems to have found a favorite spot behind the filter lol. Homer was too busy flaring at his reflection last night and this morning to really explore his tank. He's settled down a bit and is swimming around exploring more.

Love the names too ,next thing you know you'll have a Lenny & a Karl...possibly a Moe,maybe a Barny ,oh no..now I'm having Simpsons flashbacks...remember the one where he gave up beer and started remembering when he was young

Both of their colors ended up being somewhat of a surprise 'cause they were in blue water in their cups (we got them @ Petsmart) Duff looked like he was a darker blue, but ended up being more on the pinkish/purple side lol. Homer has a really cool greenish/blue color when the light catches him just right B) They've both established bubble nests too Homer's is in the back next to the filter, he's establishing another one on the other side of the filter and is busy flaring away at other "competitors" for that area lol, or so it seems Duff's is in his "garden" (long stalked plants w/flowers @ the top) he really took a liking to those

I was going to name one of them Lenny, but my younger brother came up w/the name Duff..and the name stuck. If they had a female I was going to get one and of course, name her marge

there's too many great simpsons moments...if I get started now I won't stop for hours (I'm notorious for doing that) haha
