Well I always just re-fill from the tap, as I said its a mixer, but because I got caught up dealing with my little boy who was bleeding at the time, I didnt check the temp that was re-filling, Im guessing because the cold water was so cold due to the very low temps we've been having, it cancelled out the hot water (it does that sometimes, dont know why). Normally I test it a couple of times during a refill or Im sitting watching the tank, so a one off mistake that wont be happening again.
Today they are still quite lethargic compared to normal, still not particuarly interested in food, but Im assuming this is just due to the ordeal they have been thru. But the plec is nice and fat as he is busy hoovering up the food they dont want. I know common plecs can go to much lower temps than some tropicals, so he obviously recovered quicker once he warmed up and lets face it Oscars can sulk for very long periods of time when they are upset about something. Im doing daily water changes on the tank just incase the freezing water knocked out some of the filter bacteria, so this probably isnt helping their mood as they dont like water changes at the best of times.
