I have been using Hagen bubble ladders to diffuse my DIY CO2 for a few weeks now. Over the last few days the bubbles seem to be just stopping half way up the ladder. When enough of them have built up they then all move up the top of the ladder together. It doesn't seem to be affecting my CO2 levels but I am a little concerned as to why it is doing this

I just want to get it sorted before my regulator gets here.....next week I hope :hyper:

Needs cleaning? It'll just be some sort of obstruction, I sometimes get this if a stoopid snail has crawled onto the ladder or some algae has built up...

I used to experience similar problems now and again. Just give it a quick clean with an old toothbrush. The bubbles may take 24 hours or so to flow completely up the diffuser again but don't worry. The plastic surfaces of the ladder need to be coated in a bio-microfilm to allow a smooth passage.

Oh good, so I'm not the only one with stupid snails that like to crawl into the ladder. One got stuck and it took me almost five minutes to pry him off with tweezers. :grr: My anacharis likes to get stuck there too.
