I just recently had a bout of internal parasites in my tank. the previous topic here i finished treatment about a week ago, and have been watching closely to see how they recover. i also had a batch of cory fry hatch a few days ago, so they are now in a breeding net in my quarantine tank.
the problem is that a couple of my surviving cardinals still have a sunken belly. i was going to treat again for parasites, but the problem is that my gourami and rams (who have been stressed by the meds) are showing signs of fin rot.

as i'm not sure that the cardinals actually still have parasites, and i can't use my hospital tank, i've started treatment for the fin rot (melafix) my plan is to do a full treatment (7 days) of that, do several water changes, then decide whether i should treat for parasites again. i absolutley love fish keeping, but this has been a nightmare...

thankfully, my cory fry seem to be doing well....

any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

or, would it be ok to mix the meds? the parasite meds i have is the Api general cure, with active ingredients: 250 mg Metronidazole and 75 mg Praziquantel per packet (5 packets to treat my tank)

thanks!

Wow.... no responses? really?

oh well...

anyway, after intense google-ing, i have found out that it's ok to mix melafix and the general cure. i have now treated the tank for both parasites and fin rot. hopefully this works! they're getting expensive!
