I've been researching Kenyis, but so far, I haven't been able to get a straight answer from any website I've gone to so far, and it's making me very angry. :X I was hoping you could help me out. Here's my question: What is the minimum amount of Kenyis and what is the minimum tank size for the minimum amount of Kenyis?

If you could tell me, I would be very grateful.

minimum amount you would want to have 3 females for every male. would recommend some dither fish. also long tanks work best. i have kept a group of kenyi (4) in a 30 long with lots of hidey spots for the females and dithers.

All you want is Lombardoi in the tank?

The 3 females per 1 male is about right, but at the same time you need a really big tank to have multiple males. I wouldn't put them in anything less then 4 feet long, and I'd try to aim for 1 male to 5 females or more because of their notorious aggression. The more crowded you make the tank the better off you are, and if you want more then one male, go with a few, not just a couple, or one will likely get beat to death.

Something like 4 males and 15 females may very well work in a 55 gallon, 4 ft. tank, for example.

There are no sure answers with cichlids, especially as aggressive as these. Much of what you learn will be through experience.

I personally don't want kenyis; pretty, but still, nasty little buggers I think. I'm writing a summary on them, though, and want any info I put down to be accurate.
