Got this tank for 20 bucks, has a hood with a 24" single flourescent light in it. I can modify the hood for a 30" or possibly 2 24" bulbs if needed and i have access to pretty much any kind of bulb or lighting you can think of. The tank is rather tall so i am just wondering if thats advisable. I purchased Schultz aquatic potting soil, its a micro gravel for ponds i believe, i love the color. I won't be doing CO2 injection yet, so if you can advise some good plants for me i would REALLY appreciate it. This will be my first planted tank btw ;)

Cann't remember how many watts is ideal per gallon - 2 maybe  - i'm sure someone will correct if necessary ;)

Easy plants will also depend on your water parameters
