Hi. I just got this tank and it is a 45 gallon . the measurements are 91.5 cm length, 61 cm in height and 32 cm in wideth.
I currently have the tank on my bathroom floor full of water and just noticed the middle of the tank is protruding causing the width in the middle to become 33.5 cm I am wondering if this is normal, okay, safe or will eventually the water / pressure cause the tank to explode. Should i just toss the tank, not use it? Thanks!!!!

P.S I have uploaded some pix on my profile that show the protruding middle section of the tank

i don't like the look of that, unless it's designed to be a bowfront? any tank warps like that could go boom at any time, i think that tank may be beyond fixing, did you buy it new or second hand? if new, i'd take it straight back and get another! if second hand, take it to the tip!

I'd steer well clear of using that tank - with that degree of flex the stress on the glass is going to be horrendous and is likely to fail at any time - probably knowing murphies law at 1am when you're soundly asleep or ten minutes after going out for the day.

My guess would be the tank you have is made for terrarium use. They are made to hold little critter(hamster, mice.,etc)or reptile(snake, frog.,etc)
What is the thickness of the glass used in that tank anyway?
I think they use 1/8" for small tank like 10 gallon or less and medium size they use 1/4" for like 20~50 gallon and really big one above that they use 1/2" or so. That is like minimum thickness of the glass safely they can use to hold the water and the pressure from it.
You can go to one of the aquarium manufacture web and you can find the detailed specification.
If the tank is not fit to hold full water, you can always get something doesn't require full water like frog, newt, turtle or harmit crab or something. Or you can make some green house for plants.
It looks it won't hold full water.
