Is this stone safe?

Hello, I'm new here so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Can anyone tell me if this slate is safe for my tropical tank?

I wanted to use them for decoration in my tank. They are from a garden centre, and say fish safe but just wanted to check if I can use them in a tropical aquarium? Not as the entire substrate, but to line a path.

Slate is normally fine for fish tanks but make sure it is free of chemicals. Give it a good rinse and soak and another rinse before using it. Don't use any pieces with sharp edges.
