Is This Progression Normal Or Fast?

Its been three years since i had to cycle a tank and i did it wrong

but got there in the end took a while. Can you tell me if this is rapid progression or normal. Just been reading someone else's post whose had no drop from their first dose of ammonia in 6 days.

Day 1 Dose 6ml ammonia 5-8ppm
Day 2 5ppm
Day 3 4ppm
Day 4 3ppm
Day 5 2ppm
Day 6 0.5ppm Dose 5ml ammonia
Day 7 4ppm

well i cant find the colour card for the nitrite

but yes i think there is because the drops land purple straight away, i will get a new nitrite test this weekend as its running out anyway

then yes it sounds like progression to me. and yes that is unusually fast! unless you added mature media? in which case it sounds about right.

well i'm happy its fast, i didn't add any mature media i bought a new external filter and removed the carbon bags. Its almost too good to be true.

looks like you're one of the lucky ones! my fishless cycle took about 3.5 weeks to show it's first ammonia drop!

its a lot faster than the first time i read the beginners resource centre wrong and was dosing ammonia twice a day

was about month and a half in all maybe more not sure lost count in the end lol the cycle pretty much finished once i stopped dosing twice a day

I've had to wait 7 days for my first slight ammonia drop, and still it could be a random drop!

Its quite fats. If you look at Joshwainwright's cycle, his ammonia has not budged from 5ppm for a few days ( ) so yeah, you are on the right track
