is this petstore rite

i was told yesterday that these fish dont mind m\being by them selves . i though that they liked being to geter and all my reasearch says the same thing but the petstore guy sed no si im going back to bye another 1 today but is it true they like to be alone?

Some fish like to be alone, but I think the bolivian ram would be better with another ram. If you have a male, get a female. If you have a female, get a male.

Bolivians are fine being solo, mine was, and when I added two more in the tank he beat them up

yeah my bolivian rams flare and liplock each other. Theyre not exactly the peaceful fish many people see them as although they are good with other species

They're fine alone, but as an aquarist you miss a lot of the fishes personality if they don't have a mate - monogomous cichlids can develop rather interesting relationships with their mate.

having 2 males in a tank is fun they always fight over the smallest things,usually just a small lip lock and no damage is done, but they're fine alone
