-_- i have a situation there. There are some 7 weeks old fry in my 10G, and then some 2 weeks old fry in my 15G.

There are now only 4 seven eweks old left, and i wnated to set up the 10g for something else, so i have moved the 4 of them to the 15g with the two weeks old.

The reason i'm doing this is becuase the 7 weeks old are very stunted, i don't even kno wif they'll ever grow, but i don't have the heart to cull them  they are only .5 inches..if that, no coloring yet, i dont' believe they have thier labyrith organ, and no coloration. They pretty much look like wuv's 2 weeks old fry. My own 2 weeks old are already half the size of them

anyways, it should be fine right? just 4 extra mouths that the 2 weeks odl have to fight food with. the 7 weeks pretty much look like this:

if you scroll down you'll see pics of wuv's fry..tha'ts what my 7 weeks old look like, i'm hoping they wont' try and eat the other ones right?

I'm sorry that I can't help you :( It sounds like they are stunted... I hope everything turns out fine though.

yeah :( i feel that ti's my fault life's not wokring out for them. I don't think i did enough water changes when they were young so they missed thier grwoth spurt :(

I'm jsut worried about them attacking the 2 weeks old. Everyone's a ltite freaked right now and not moving much  one of hte older fry seems to be hyperventailiing....i don't know if he's going to be alright

i wouldnt when i was moving my first spawn to another tank the smaller one came out of the java and he got eaten by the biggest one. Either cull them or use another tank. But that is just me , good luck with your choice.

Sounds like they are freaked out!

You definitely shouldn't take it out on yourself... you can't help their growth rate. I'm sure you did everything right, from reading your previous posts you sound like you know what you're doing! In situations like this, it doesn't seem like there's anything else you can do.

i htought about keeping them in a 1g, but i don't know if it's big enough for them to grow :S also, i'll have to add an air stone in there somehow because i don't think they breathe on the surface yet...i really can't tell actually -_-

i ntoiced some bullying by some of the bigger ones :/ the small 2 weeks old seem pretty jittery and are flying all over the place.

lol yes i can put an airstone in there but my airpump is all taken up :/ and there's no more room unless i want to put them on the floor :X

Just keep a close eye on the size differences as they grow, if any get to be a good size bigger, they WILL eat the smaller ones. With my red spawn, when I moved them from the spawn tank to the growout (45 gallons), I had 127 fry...the final count that made it to 3.5 months is 44, I lost maybe 2 to an undisclosed reason (sickness?) but the rest I can only assume were eaten by their bigger siblings, there was quite a size difference among them, and it was the smaller ones dissappearing. Personally I'm glad as it was a natural way to cull, the stronger survived, so the juvi's I still have should be quite strong fish.

hmmm good point. How big was hte size difference between them? i doubt right now the bigger ones would chopm on the smaller ones, but i do see them nip from time to time. Usually when there is a cluster of small ones, and a big one is near by he'll go and case the group until veryone is scattered

I have already fed them 3 times today :p not sure if theyr'e acutally eating all the food right now, but my mw culture has suddenly revived and i have so many worms they seem to be crawling OUT Of hte container now...and the bbs, which i worked so hard for1 i don't wnat a single one of those going to waste :p i'm sure they have more than eneough to eat now :*)

At one point the size difference was 1/4" to 3/4"! It just amazes me that they can range in size that much. Mostly though it was 1/2" to 3/4". Now at 3.5 months old they are on average 1" (not counting the tail), some a tad smaller (although not much) and some are a tad larger. I removed one that is 1 1/4" as she was bullying the others too much.
