Ok so I've had a 29g with 2 female velvet swords and 1 male red wag sword for going on three months now and there are NO fry, the females don't/ haven't ever even looked pregnant (thought maybe fry would have gotten eaten by the white skirts and cories in the tank but females don't even show signs of pregnancy...) is this normal? I mean I hear some of you guys talking about livebearers popping out babies every 2 or 3 weeks, and mine haven't had any in 3 months of owning them... maybe it's like my mom said and the females are lesbians (they do tend to chase the male away all the time and hang together a lot) haha.

Sometimes some fish are just not interested. My male mollie only went for my female platys and left my female mollies alone.

The females are probably about 2.5" and the male is about the same size (not counting the tail). I don't want to buy anymore fish, I just thought it'd be cool to have some fry, and don't have any yet... maybe they're just not interested... that would be my luck, we'll see how it goes.

May be it is because the male and the females are not of the same kind. I remember when I mixed two kinds of platies together, it took couple of months for me to see the strain that contains both traits - they seem to prefer their own kinds initially...

Just a thought... ;)
