I just moved my male crowntail betta from his two gallon bowl into my 10 gallon community tank (2 female balloon mollies, 1 female guppy, shrimp, a few 1.5 month old/3 week old balloon molly fry. He is not being very active right now. Just swims around for a minute then goes to a certain spot and just stays there. Is this normal? Is he just adjusting to his new environment?

Yes, it's fairly normal. He could be sulking at having other fish around him - not all Betta's make good community fish. Also, he might not eat for a few days during this time of settling in. Watch him with those shrimp, though - my male betta used to kill shrimp.

Do you have some leafy areas for the betta to hide/rest? They also don't like rapid moving/noisy waters, so if your filter is set to a fast output, you may need to turn it down to a gentler setting, otherwise they struggle to swim against the strong current with all that flowing finnage.

Regards, Athena
