I noticed about 2 weeks ago that the very tips to my CT anal fins are 'curling' if that makes sense. I didnt think anything of it but I read something earlier that has made me think it could be fin rot? I cant see any signs of infection or any white fungus on him anywhere. And it doesnt seem to have gotten any worse. Id get a picture but he doesnt stay still for longer than the 2 seconds that he flares when the camera isnt pointing at him!
Is this finrot???
Thanks!

are his fins just curlying with no discoloration? Ususally when there fin rot there will be discloloration like blackness on the tips. Also ways to avoid betta problems such as fin rot ick etc you can add alittle salt to there bowls or tank they actually like it I always added salt in my tanks with bettas and my spawning tanks and never had a problem they loved it and i have been told by many seasonal breaders that they do the same due to the fact helps prevent fungus and bacterial infections.I usually added 1 tabel spoon rock salt every 10 gal or if you just want to go by gal i added 1/2 teaspoon in 1 gal. ( Do not use table salt though use rock salt which isnt as spendy or u can use aquarium salt )

I cant see any discolouration, well I cant see if its turnt black as hes a goth coloured CT the tips have always been black!
Its just as if the tips are curling, like they are going to roll up sort of thing... It doesnt seem to bother him, he has his little mini bubble nest, he still eats like a pig, swims about fine and still flares up at me when I look at him.

Ill try and get some of that salt soon, thanks for the advice.

Black linning can be ammonia burns that are healing.
What size bowl is he in or tank.
How often do you maintain the tank.
Water stats would be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Salt would be good for the fins.

Hes in 1 side of a 10G divided, its filtered and heated, its kept at about 27 degrees. I do about a 50% water change every 1-2 weeks.
I dont know the stats, Ill test tomorrow and let you know.
Heres a pic of him before I got him.

And its just the tips of his anal fin are now curled slightly.

Weekly water changes with a vac about 20%.
How many dividers are they.

Im pretty sure anyway, he's probably been growing since you got him, the CT rays can bend/ curl. it doesnt look like anything wrong having said that id keep a close watch

Theres 2 dividers, so the tank is in 3, the middle section just has the filter in so each side is equally filtered.
Dont think the males can see eachother, never seen them looking at eachother anyway.

Yea, I dont think he is full size yet, hes about 5 months old now. I just thought it was weird how they were curling but there is no signs of damage to him and he is really healthy as far as I can tell. Id of thought if he was sick he wouldnt build his bubble nests?
