Hi, this is a pic of one of my Bronze Corydoras. On the base of the dorsal fin is what looks like a growth of some sort. Has anybody any ideas as to what it could be?
A white patch then can are prone to bacterial problems, and white marks can be bacterial, what are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
I would preform a water change on the tank, can you issolate the fish as it will need a med.
The stats were ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 10ppm, pH 7.6 and water temp of 25.9ºC as of this morning. I've noticed the mark on this before Xmas.
White marks like that can be bacterial or parasite, but corys are more prone to bacteria infections than parasites, i would get the fish on a bacterial med, the barbels look fine to me, have you noticed any difference in them, going shorter or thinner in appearance.
