umm... well i havent tended to my tank in about... a month? well, actualy ive been feeding and stuff, but no maintenence at all.... (i lost interest for some reason) and well now the 3 live plants i had in there have multiplyed into about 60... BIG plants.... ok not thhhaattt big, but medium sized, time to sell in the store size. but ANYWAYS... i have a big plant infestation... and since i havent been looking at my tank for a while, (i just did today) i ust notced a whole bunch of blackish, moldish, fuzz on alll of my plants, (except the new borns) but yes... that is my diagnosis... is this some kind of danger to the tank or fish? all of my fish seem fine, though there IS an extream about of algea in the tank, but ya.... what is this stuff? should i be freaking out? WHAT SHOULD I DO? is this common... please help! i dont want to leave it like that further if its dangerous... thanks... buh bye... :/

hi, i am by no way an expert but it sounds like its hair algae, but sure someone on here will confirm this or correct me if i am wrong. if its hair algae you can buy meds for this, i have just started to use some, its by Interpet called Anti Hair Algae, and its £3.99 from my LFS.

regards

this info was taken of the box of anti hair algae i have

" green hair algae can be short or long and string like. Black or Brown hair algae appears short and tuffy"
