I wouldnt bother myself, with that size tank i think youd be replacing it probably every two weeks or so.

The nutrafin co2 is no different to DIY co2 made from a carbonated drinks bottle. It could work if you used 2 or 3 bottles and changed them at different times to keep it stable. Connect them with a gang valve and use a drop checker and it should be fairly stable and give you a good co2 level. But then again it may not, im not sure if yeast based co2 would work on a tank that size.

If you can afford 70-100 pounds id go for a pressurized fire extinguisher setup, but i understand you may not be able to do that. Hopefully someone with more experience will be along soon to help you further.

I don't really like the idea of a pressurized bottle in the house tbh. Think I will give the yeast one a shot.

Thanks for the help :good:

So can co2 from the coke or whatever produce co2 for the tanks, as I was worried that other stuff may go into the tank as well.

Sometimes the stuff does end up in the tank, and makes a huge mess.

It's just a case of keeping a good eye on the system, and changing the mix in the bottle over regularly.

It can work well, but doesnt equal a pressurised system except with very high maintenance, and is really better suited to smaller tanks.

^ I agree. I started with a single nutrafin co2 kit on my tank. Wasnt working for me, kept leaking into the tank. Now ive got pressurized and once youve got it set up and got the level correct. The only time you have to mess if it the bottle runs out, and they usually last 6-12 months... So theres pretty much NO maintenance.
