Is This An Infestation?

Hi, currently have a rio 180 setup with bogwood, plants and rocks. Recently noticed two of my amano shrimp females were carrying egg's. I noticed they had gone and on closer inspection it looks like there are a load of little insects on the spray bar on my tank.

the reason im curious is simply because they dont appear to be baby shrimps, they are hopping about and in my opinion look more like lice of some kind. they appear to be staying out of the water.

what could have caused this as i definatly dont over feed, have not added any new plants but did add some new fish yesterday.

they appear to be living on the spray bar using it as a safe ground and I have tried to squash a couple to see up close on my finger but after a few minutes i seem to have gotten like a "nettle rash" when you get stung as if they have bitten me?? there are only two of these bumps one on each hand Im guessing its these little critters?

could anyone help or advice me on what to do?

Hi i dont know what they might be but they aren't amino shrimp because they need brackish water to hatch, hopefully someone else will be able to advise you.

hi there well to start definately wouldnt be shrimp as amano shrimp need a marine larvae stage to breed them so they are very difficult to breed and alot of work.
are they just hopping on the surface of the water ?
are they a brown/orangy colour?

also on your hand can you describe this more what it looks like can you get any pics ?
are you sure it was from the tank?

not 100% about the rash bit im very easy to react to slightest things in terms of that. im not worried about that, its just the sheer scale of them.

they do seem to be bopping about on top of the water and there is quiteeee a lot of them. ill try my best for a pic as you read this.

can you describe what they look like.
i get these now and again if its the same thing and there nothing too worry about and no way really of getting rid of them

they just look like a white/creamy colour, little mites, from as close as i can see they are quite round with legs either side running the body length, quite stumpy in terms of body length to size so they are only small. slightly bigger than a common head "nit"

if that helps lol

they appear to be jumping about as well quite a lot to be fair.

Could they be springtails? Take a look in the Hitchhikers guide.
