I've never had to deal with a swim bladder problem before, so need to make sure on what to do.

One of my female bettas is having trouble going down and seems to be having some difficulty swimming.
When she swims down, she finds a leaf to go under to keep her there. And when she comes back up, it's tail first.

Is this a problem w/ her swim bladder?

She looks like she might be a bit constipated. It's hard to tell. I definitely don't overfeed my bettas so, yeah, this came unexpectedly. *shrugs*

it could be, if she looks constipated give her a boiled deshelled pea, only a small piece about the size of her eye ball, that should sort her if it is constiaption
when she gets to the top does she sit upright or on her side?

She's upright. When she's resting at the top, she doesn't have a problem w/ her balance. It's just when she starts trying to swim, she sorta.. I dunno.. hobbles to her right side. And then the whole thing w/ her tail wanting to float up when she wants to go down.

I don't think I can get her to eat a pea. Doesn't help that I don't have any :p
But yeah, it would fall to the floor before she could get to it anyway.

I took her out and gave her an epsom salt bath. She didn't poop, but hopefully it will still help. I poured some of the water in to the tank, so I hope it does help her go if she is constipated.

its good that she is keeping upright, i know what you mean i have had a few that wanted to go down but there tails didn't and i haven't a clue what it was that was some time ago, can't remember if i did anything or not
