I was in my LFS some weeks ago and I saw panda corys for $14.00 each! I mean is this the norm for this fish? How much have you people paid. I want to get those in the future but I also don't want to get ripped off!

That's at least double what they go for here, but local markets vary. If they are new or rare in your area they could go for that much.

I've purchased pandas from 3 different shops, 1 had them at £3.69(roughly $7.49), another at £4.79($9.72) and the 3rd had them at 3 for £11($22.34) one week and the following week I paid £12.79($25.97) for 3. It all depends on the individual shop and as tolak said if they are rare in your area the price will be higher. The only question you need to ask yourself is do you want to pay that much? Do you really want them and are willing to pay a little more for them. I don't know about in the US but alot of online fish shops have pandas at a fair price (around £4 / $8.12) so could you not order some online. There is a member on here called neon cory who breeds them, you should give him a PM he might be able to send you some for a good price :D

Hi Zeoth :)

Do you mean US dollars? If so, I think the price was a bit high. I live in New York and never saw anything near that price, even back when they were hard to find. They are usually tank raised these days and are sold at a small size for a reasonable price. If the ones you saw were mature adults, it wouldn't be out of line for the lfs to charge considerably more for them.

I think the going rate for small ones is about $4 each around here.

I personally paid $4 each for panda corydoras in Oregon. I haven't been able to find them here in Wisconsin unfortunately.

God Bless,
Joshua

still is depends on the availablility of them, panda's here are priced higher than normal loaches, but the highest is still the schwartzi

Alright, I just went to my local fish store here in Wisconsin, and they were $5 each. So now if I just drive home to Oregon, I can save a dollar on fish ;)...because that's so logical with gas prices now

God Bless,
Joshua

I just got some today from my LFS, they were £2.50 ($5) each.

No I mean Canadian Dollars  . Why is every one's so cheap but my LFS are soo expensive? i don't get it. If yoiu say that most of them are tank raised than it shouldn't make that much of a difference

P.S The Canadian Dollar is higher than the U.S dollar by (checked a month ago so it's not that reliable, but it is higher by 84 cents.) *finally* ;)

sorry for the long wait...

So you paid roughly $24.08 w/o tax for a cory? IN illinois, we pay 4 dollars for a adult panda cory. Bronze cory's are like 2 dollars on a good day!
