there are the obvious RTBS and rainbow sharks or even a bala shark if the tanks big enough..... there are also a few shark like catfish about but avoid the pangs as they are monsters when adult :good:

he hasn't got a big tank, even if there was a fish that looked like one
what size tank does he have?

RTBS and rainbow sharks are possibly the smallest but they can reach a good 6 inches and need some room as they can get territorial and in smaller tanks they may well cause some damage to other fish.....

i was just going to keep the fish by itself,no other fish if that would be ok,this is a link to the tank

My link

cheers

defo not big enough for any of the fish ive listed im affraid.

some corys or small loaches and a nice group of tetras would be more suitable, just tell him they are sharks :hey:

Unfortunitely, there are no loaches that will comfortably fit in that tank, even the smallest loaches will not fit in there. A shoal of Corys will go in there nicely (only Pygmy, Hastatus or Habrosus corys though)

I would have thought some Rosy Loaches ("Tuberoschistura arakanensis") would be fine in there, given they are the same ballpark size as the "Pygmy" cory variations? http://www.loaches.com/species-index/tuberoschistura-arakanensis

No, defitely not Rosy Loaches. I had 6 in a 40 litre 45cm tank and they were way too active for it. It would be cruel to keep them in a 28L 30cm long tank IMO, they need lots of swimming space. Maybe some Khulis could be ok :X
