A quick recap of what has happened to this point: Last Sunday I noticed a small sore above one of my tiger barbs mouth. It didn't look infected, but to be safe I isolated him and added salt, melafix, and primafix to his water. By Wed. Night, the sore was looking infected, so I began treatment with Maracyn and Maracyn 2.

This morning, I woke up and this fish is now having alot of trouble keeping his balance in the water. It started with him having trouble when he went to the surface, he would go belly up, then he would correct himself. I just got home from church, and he is having alot more trouble, now starting to loose control and turning sideways too.

Is there anything else I should do?

Sad to say no the infection got a hold of him and he is dying, i'm so sorry they go like that when they are dying.

No he's not going to get better, never seen a fish yet recovery from rollling over in the tank and upside down, sorry.

Ok, I had a feeling it was to this point, I just wanted to check before doing anything final.

I have actually had one fish start swimming upside down, then come back, but he was swimming around because his tank was next to my open window and the temperature dropped dramatically very quickly. (no heater in the tank).

You could hold of abit, but i'm not holding much hope i'm afraid, bless him.

Don't i will need a tissue in a minute, hold of see how he goes, somtimes miracles happen.

Is gasping where a fish's gills will suddenly open really wide and move back in?
Is this another sign of a turn for the worse? I don't want to give up on this guy since he is fighting so hard, but I don't want him to suffer. :-(

:rip: :byebye: He's gone. I went out this evening around 6, and he seemed to be hanging in there, if not slightly improving. I just went to check on him and he had died. I have no idea what went wrong. It was a small sore that didn't look like it was getting worse until 4 days after it apeared. I treated him with antibiotics, because that looked to be the only thing wrong. :-(

Bless his little heart he was a fighter R.I.P. sorry for your loss.
