Took it out in one big lump in june, the filter had blown it so that it went into a tornado shape, and wasn't touching any of the plant, except for a bit of java moss.
...Wow I'm sad

Tile grout got on the tank when making some reptile backgrounds.
 
Thats nothing just after winter when the pond plants haven't quite started fully growing yet the hair algae takes hold and easily pull out 4-5 metre long clumps of it.

Lmao, ponds don't count :P have a bright green 14000 gallon pond festering full of hair algae :(
 
oh its horrible stuff isnt it, i had a load but managed to get rid of it by just ripping out the plants that it was on.. havent seen it since, all the other plants were fine :)

I let it grow so that it would hopefully hold off other algae ( to keep the few crypts in there alive) and keep good water quality.I think it may have worked as I got literally no other algae.
It's a nightmare to get off from riccia and moss :crazy:
The pic only show 2/3 of it :lol:
