I have a female molly in my community tank, who a few weeks ago had some babies. Since then, she has been the b@#ch from hell, chasing everybody around.
Today I realised she was picking on one of my dwarf gourami, and took a 5mm chunk out of it's side.

The gourami's in a hospital tank, the molly in a sin bin.

Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, how do you solve it?

Any suggestions would be great.

Yes I have a big bully, A Texas cichlid and he's a big bully.
Your fish might just be trying to protect her babies and after a while she might settle down.
Molly's generally are not aggressive fish. I would leave them apart for a while a let the gourami recover and then introduce him back into the tank.
If that doesnt work remove the molly and leave the gourami in the tank and reintroduce the molly after a few days that way the molly will be entering the gourami's space she might not fight.

At least I'm not the only one, lol...

I think I'll give her a spankin'... (not really, but I want to strangle the b*gger!)

My poor gourami, the wound is HUGE, and protruding, and white... if she dies, all my mollies are GONE, back to the lfs, they have been evil little mongrels.

I had a silver male molly (razor) who got so aggressive that I have to return him to the lfs, but a while later my mollies had babies, I have silver molly fry who are fiesty little things, I'm sure they are razor's offspring, sent to haunt me for sending him back to the fish shop.

I have 3 main bullies in my 10 Gallon Tank.
My Male Crowntail Betta Diablo, he isn't that bad but he just chases around my P. Furcata Rainbowfish... only sometimes.
My P. Furcata Rainbowfish Blue Eyes, he hogs all the food and sometimes chases around my swordtail... only sometimes.
My Female Dwarf Gourami Juliet, chases around my Male Dwarf Gourami.

Spawns of the devil, lol...

Here lies my dilema - if I give the satan molly back to the lfs, she will no doubt end up in another community tank, given back to the lfs once again, etc etc...

Would I be eliminating a defective 'agressive personality' gene if sent her to fishy heaven? Much like putting an agressive dog to sleep?

Would I be doing the right thing by taking a bastid fish out of the genetic pool?

My wounded gourami nods her head from across the room...

maybe I'll start a new thread

My Gourami and RTBS are all bullies to one another in their 30 gallon home. My Cory tank, there's no real bullying between the cories, the snails or the male betta in there and my khulis are all still too scared to do anything but hide.

My discus is a little bastard. He killed my other one and now he chases the remaining angel and was picking at the other one before it died. everyone is scared of him, even Charlie, who used to be the boss of the tank, knows to keep his distance.

Auratus are the bullies of the bullies! :D
I used to keep cichlids....but took them back to the lfs when I got my new tank so I could keep a community tank with discus...
Anyway I saw my auratus in the shop the other day (they dont stock them so I knew it was mine) and he is HUGE now and what a bully! haha I felt sorry for the other ones in with him!
