Is There A Betta Out There For Me?

I'm a really big fan of these fella's, and seeing as my slightly smaller 150ltr tank only contains bottom dwellers, it would be nice to have something to fill the rest of the space.

Now I've attempted one previously (such a pretty black and blue little guy) and had to go down the adoption route as he and my clowns really didn't see eye to eye. He was a bad tempered chap who loved to go down fully flared to the bottom and constantly chase the loach. This from what I've read could just be as case of I bought a grumpy box as everybody I've spoke to has never heard of them going for clown loaches.

So is it worth me trying another? I would really like one

Or would a female be better suited to a 'community tank'?

it really dependce on the betta some will be fine with you fish others wont. females are better in tanks with other fish and you can have a shoal of them. what else is in ur tank?

yh i know but i wanted to know how many and what bottom dwellers
how many lph is the filter? and what are the tank dimentions? coz clowns get big and messy

Hi, don't worry the clowns have a new super duper large home ready and waiting for them when they start to get too big.

As for facts and figures - it's a 150ltr (more tall than long) tank with plenty of plants and hidey holes. Fish wise it has, 5 clowns, 3 chain loach and 4 oto's.

I have to ask a stupid question too really...........as much as I know what the females look like, I've never seen any in any other colour than brown. Do they come in prettier colours? lol

Certainly! I have 10 females of different colours! I have females that are blue & pinks, reds, purples etc!

Females come in all beautiful shades. . .mine is blue. At Petco, they sell them in all kinds of shades including purple too. There are also the pretty white ones with red fins. Look like peppermint candy.

Lol thats what i used to think! hehehe, You could also try Ebay.

20 would be good but you say you dont want that many, why not opt for a shoal of 20 Neon tetras instead then, or even 25.
