Is Tank Still Ok To Keep Chichlids?

So i got my tank and it turns out the actual dimentions are 39Lx15hx11w inches rather than the expected 43x22x15 so im a bit bumbed out.
Is the tank still ok to keep these magnificant fish in.
If so working on the basis that the fish im after will grow to about 6" in lenght all togeter how many could i have.

Yeah that sounds good, I could be off but i mean i have a 55 gallon with about 12 cichlids in it and they are fine. The tank has plenty of hiding spaces and the fish dont bother one another. You should be fine with about 10-15? I could be wrong but i dont see why not.

Thanks i got a bit annoyed when i found out the real dimentions my LFS has over 40 tanks full of chichlids so i am getting reasured by people like you helping me thanks alot origanly the said i could have like 20 but now i think i will stay with like 10-15 like you said im gonna have sand and slate rock or limestone no plants they get dug up

Thats sounds great. I dont know if your intrested but i have myself a 55 gallon tank with cichlids, The other day i went to the store and bought myself a coconut, Ive seen this talked about here plenty of times well anyways i opened the coconut in half and cleaned out the insides, This is where its gets hard but i put the coconut in water and boiled it about 7 times in new clean water, The coconuts then had a door cut out for my fish and i now have coconut caves. It looks great its a great addition to the tank, You might want to consider that as a nice addition to the tank?

It might be a good idea to start with 20 though, that way you can be sure to get enough females for each group of species that you choose.

Thats true, Pick up 20 small guys, Not all of them will survive is a safe assumption.
