Hi,
I've posted before about my platy not eating. Well, she's not eating yet, but now she's bloated, specially around the belly area. At first I thought it was a tumor, but as days went by I noticed she has trouble swimming to the lower part of the tank and part of her back sticks out of water-level. Now I think this prevents her from reaching the food, and maybe that's why she's not eating.

Could this be swimbladder disease? I've read about the pea trick in swimbladder cases but the problem here is that the fish is not eating in the first place.
I'm very worried now. I have Aquarium pharmaceuticals Furan-2 capsules.
Do you think those could work? If not, I'll appreciate any help or advice you may have

Thanks in advance

Odds r very very slime I'm afrid. Fish will suffer alot of pain :( rather let it go in peace.

Once swimbladder has progressed there is no cure, what do you usually feed the fish, could also be constipation but if she not eating can't get the pea down her.

No the writer of this information below.

CONSTIPATION

Symptom: A string of feces trails behind the fish, the abdomen swells, the fish has little interest in food, and the fish is sluggish or resting on the bottom. No symptoms of disease is present.

Treatment: Do not feed the fish for two days. Separate it from its tank mates if possible with a glass partition at feeding time. After the two day fast, feed the fish herbivore plant and vegetable foods such as romaine lettuce, algae or green peas (remove skin) for the next two days. After the treatment period, feed a proper and varied diet. If the constipation is severe and this treatment did not work and the fish seems to be stressed, it can be treated with cod liver oil. Net the fish and place it on a clean wet towel. Place two drops of cod liver oil in the mouth of the fish and place the fish back in the main tank. DO NOT KEEP THE FISH OUT OF THE WATER FOR MORE THAN ONE MINUTE. Do not feed the fish for two days after this treatment.
