Hi there... me again
Is this fish pregnant... from the description on the breeding pages etc.. I would say yes.. but I'm a little shocked as both her and the other one I bought (which is only half grown) were kept seperate from the males in the shop :fun: and the other one is only a youngster . What age can they breed from?

Thanks

around 5 months and yes she looks about a week pregnant maybe a little more sometimes them being little doesn't mean anything... I had a fish for a week and she had 12 babies only 9 lived and the mother died from Ick and Fin Rot....I got her with that and she killed everyone in my tank but two females... and 64 fry.....keep your eyes open cause with fish thin or not can have babies....

Good Luck
Erin

Even though the males and females were seperated at the shop, it's likely at some point she was with males who were ready for breeding and females will store sperm inside them, so even though they haven't been with a male in a couple months, they can still be pregnant. Chances are she got pregnant while still in the growout tank at the breeders. Some breeders try to seperate them before that happens (although I think most don't bother) but it's tough and doesn't always work. So yes, it does look like yours is in early term and will eventually have babies, although probably a couple weeks down the road.

I got some guppies and the guy who sold them to me said that it was possible to breed them. Well, he wasn't kiddin', they just won't stop :fun:

Anyway, I've found that the dark spot near their bum is a dead giveaway. The darker and bigger it gets........ :D

Tee Hee! Narayan, those guppies are on a secret mission to take over the world by filling every last body of water with MORE GUPPIES!

Best you make them boys some lil fishy condoms!
