Hi, I have a 29 gallon aquarium with the following fish:

8x neon tetras
4x diamond tetras
1x male platy
1x female platy
1x pictus cat (3-4")
2x dwarf fire gouramis

I hope to get rid of the diamond tetras and the male platy (he's causing a lot of trouble with bullying the gouramis), then get some more females. Is the pictus cat ok in my aquarium? The petstore said he would be fine.

thanks!

No your tank isnt overstocked, however your pictus cat may well start to snack on your smaller tetras once it gets bigger. I would possibly consider trading your pictus catfish for a group of 6 corys.

Your Male is only bullying the gouramis because you have one male and one female. If you had other male and female platys you would find he would only display to other males and show no signs of agression towards other fish. I would consider getting 2 more females and 1 more male platy.

As long as you have fairly good filteration on your tank it will be able to handle this kind of stocking.
