I know the rule, just wanted your opinion on stocking and compatability

I have a 260 litre Juwel Vision 4ft x 1.5 ft x 2ft deep

2 small ottos
Pair dwarf gouramis
Pair Pakistani (yoyo) loaches
Red tail shark
2x up side down cats - medium
2 firemouth - small
2 angels - medium
6 black widow tetras
5 blue tetras

Thanks

I'm still kind of a beginner, so I don't know how big some of those fish get. Maybe if you edit your post or post again - and include how big the fish are, and how big each species usually gets - more people would respond. Not many people want to spend the time looking up the info.

Hi
the general guide is to have an inch of adult size fish per gallon of water.

2 small ottos (4 inches)
Pair dwarf gouramis (4 inches)
Pair Pakistani (yoyo) loaches (16 inches)
Red tail shark (6 inches)
2x up side down cats - medium (if they are synodontis nigriventris 8 inches)
2 firemouth - small ( 12 inches )
2 angels - medium (12 inches)
6 black widow tetras (12 inches)
5 blue tetras (10 inches)

Thats mainly guessing as the angels and firemouths may get bigger. Also being cichlids they will have territories.

Some of the fish you have should be in bigger groups i.e otos, loaches and usd catfish.

edit heres a site to work out the gallons in the tank http://mike-edwardes.members.beeb.net/converter.html

Are you sure those measurements are correct? Because that size tank is nearly 350litres, not 260 and that's a considerable difference. :/ If it's actually a 3ft tank rather than 4ft then it's a 260litre tank which is approx 67usg.
So yes the tank is overstocked once they're all fully grown. The otos will eventually become a snack for the angels.
Being that the total comes to the equivalent of 84inches of fish I suspect you'll need to do some rethinking of your tank. Your best bet is move the dwarfs to another tank (feel the mts just creeping up on you.) as the angels are likely to become aggressive as they grow up. The Firemouths can also become somewhat aggressive as adulthood approaches.
Hugs,
P.

Measurements are correct. Its a bow front, which is 18 inches wide at deepest point, 13 inches wide at edges. Cheers peeps.

In my opinion, 'for now' as long as you keep up the water changes your tank will be fine (if your tank capacicty is correct). However, once your fish start to grow, you will need to buy another tank, and/or start finding them new homes.

It's definately a 260 litre bowfront tank which is 68.7 US gallons.

Overstocked, but you have some time to find homes for the bigger boys. Personally this is what I would do... I would get rid of the firemouths and shark because they take up so much room and might get aggressive. And find homes for the 2 loaches, they need to be in a much bigger group and take up alot of room. Then I'd get 1 more oto, 3 more upside-down cats, and two more angelfish. Still slightly overstock, but the fish would be in better groups, I think anyway.

Good luck on your tank.
