Is My Tank Cycled

so yesterday in petworld they gave me two bioballs from there filter that are 3 years old i brought them home and put them into tank i went back and set next day and bought brand new media in the box i set it all up i got about 5-7 sponges in it and a bag of bionoods i put the two bioballs in with the bionoods its a 240 lite tank with a fluval 305 im currently doing fish in cycle with a 12inch goldfish and three of my swordtails how long till u think its done cycling ? in the shop they also rubbed the filter pads into the shops sump bacterial

Nice looking tank! The only way to tell for certain if your tank is cycled is to buy some test kits and test the levels of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate on a daily basis. Once you have consistently zero levels of ammonia and nitrite, and nitrate > 0, the tank is cycled. If, instead, you are getting ammonia and/or nitrite levels greater than zero, you are in a fish-in cycle situation and should consider water changes to keep levels under control. thanks a million i also have a member of the forms kindly donating mature filter sponge =] that should be enuf bacteria hopefully
