Well my little swordtails that I have had for about three months are getting pretty big ( about 1 1/2 inches ) my male swordtail is try to get one pregnate is she to young to get pregnate or what?
Please be patient a little longer. I'll move your thread into the Livebearers Forum and I'm sure someone who knows the answer to your question wil be along to help you.
They are capable of getting pregnant at that age, no, it's probably not the best thing in the world for her. She could come through the pregnancy ok or she might not. I personally would prefer to not breed them that young. Another month or 2 and she'd probably be ok to breed.
Well I am not trying to breed her it just my male swordtail just won't stop trying to make all of my femails pregnate? Should I take him out of the tank? Or should I leave him in there?
the only way to keep livebearers from breeding is to keep the sexes separated. if you aren't ready to breed her, don't put her with any males.
a good rule of thumb is that if the fish are old enough for the different sexes to be distiguished, they're capable of breeding (although they may still be too young for that to be recommended)
