I don't have and pics but im 50% sure my sunburst platy is pregnant. She apears to be healthy and i bought her a two months ago along with a male. The male showed interest in mateing by chaseing her and doing a bit of a shimmy dance. She has a rounded belly from the side but from her front her stomach looks like it is long but not wide. (like a rectangle) She has been liike this for weeks now and i am starting to doubt she is pregnant. When I feed her her stomach gets big but it returns to the normal size in a few hours. I do not over feed haer and the others get and eat the same amount and the remain their normal size. Ill try to post a pic but im not sure how. Anyone who can tell me how to post a pic? And do you think she is pregnant?

Thanks. She apeared to be pregnant when I bought her. It was one of the reasond I picked her.

If she isnt't preggo now, she will be if you have a male.....they hump like bunnies. I have a 40 gallon livebearer community (platys and swords) and I have fry once or twice a month, depending on which of the 6 females get preggo.

Is he a juvenile? Maybe he isn't old enough? Also, what is your m/f ration? Sometime if they are one to one, he will harass her to the point where she will run. You may want to think about a second male, and 3 more females...what size if your tank?
