Is My Platy Fat Or Pregnant

Hi i have had my platy for a few months now and ive noticed shes gettin fat and has been for about 2months, just wondering if shes pregant or ill. she eats a lot though.

Can you get a photo perfectly side on? How much do you feed and what is the tank stock?

It does look gravid, can you see any sort of dark spot under her tail?

i have 2 platys 2 corys 8 neon tetras 1 dwarf gourami and a red claw crab. i feed them a pinch of flake morning and a small pinch at night and once a week i give them half a cube of blood worms instead of the flakes,cheers dan

More likely to be fat than pregnant. Keep in mind: if she has shared a tank with a male at any point in the last 6 months, she's probably pregnant as well. For feeding, I would recommend to not feed at all on one day per week.

that picture is exactly how my platy looks , and dont know whether to out her in a breeding tank or not , i brought her last week and she has been putting on weight since , any suggestions ? i cannot see any gravid spot.

I of my platies have had babies and yes they've been big but the one I currently thought was pregnant is now massive. She is big not only in her belly area but on top as well. Her head now seems half the size of her body. There is another pregnant female in the tank who is dropping but this other one just seems enormous. I have one very large male in the tank that seems to be keeping close tabs on her. She is far bigger than any of the images of pregnant platies that i've seen...very concerned about her! Any ideas???

Google look up DROPSY...
It's symptoms include bloating all over. Hopefully that's not what it is, but definitely something to check out
