Is my new catfish ill ?

Hi,

Bought 3 ancistrus today and 2 of them are swimming about lively and happily. One is stuck to the side near the bottom and has hardly moved all day.

His stomach looks a bit swollen and as if it is 'moving about a bit'

Is it internal parasites or dropsy or could it be pregnant (its only small so i doubt it)

Should i take it back to the lfs tomorrow if its the same or dead ? Will they exchange ?

Water stats are perfect

do you know what your lfs policy is on dead fish? every store has a different policy, the one where i work it is 48 hours with a water sample. you should phone and find out.

they had a sign up saying refunds with water sample but im more concerned about the fish being ill and suffering rather than my money back. could it just be a 'shy' individual or is it more likely ill ?

oh well - he died this morning. at least its not in pain anymore though.

A lot of people don't know the answers to queries and those that do might not see the post. Next time try posting in the emergency section. Hopefully for you though tere won't be a next time and all your fish will live happily.
