I noticed late last night that my molly had developed a white vent, then she started darting around looking very distressed. It was very worryin g. She is acting ok now, but still has the white part. I read somewhere about hexamita, could it be this? Her poo has been white and stringy, but I thought it was just her type of fish (i am new to the hobby). She is also looking a bit fatter recently and going down to rest on the bottom out of sight, I actually thought she was pregnant. Please help! Also, If anyone knows of a good product to get rid, which I can get in the uk, that would be great.

This white bit, is it where the pooh comes from, or is it a little way off?

If she's fatter, and sulking down at the bottom, with a white tube at her rear, that is signs of imminent birthing. If she has shared water with a male in the last 6 months, she will almost certainly be pregnant.

The worrying part is the white stringy poo, which is a sign of parasites or bacterial infection.

If at all possible, a photo would help.

I'll try my best to get a photo, it's rather difficult though, as the whiteness is only very clear when you view her from the back. She doesn't have poo coming out constantly, it's just when she does it's mostly white and stringy.

Is it a white tube (rather than a solid spot) that she's got, and does the pooh come from it?

it looks to me like the hole is blocked with white, nothing is potruding out. last night it was really swollen and she was going mad swimming everywhere. It eventually got smaller and this morning was quite small but still there and she's acting normal again.

one of my males has this too...i'm thinking constipation

looked into the constipation thing and I found that apparently feeding them not enough greens and too much flake food can cause this. put some very finely chopped spinach in the tank last night and a bit later she had a healthy looking poo. :good:
