One of my fishies has white bumps on him. They're not just colored spots, they are actually raised bumps. He's eating fine and swimming fine and doesn't seem to have any other problems. My water is ok, there is no ammonia but my nitrates and nitrites are a little high. I've been doing water changes every other day. Is my fish sick? IF so, what should I do?

BTW, neither of my two other fish seem to be affected at this point.

I'm no expert on fish disease, but it sounds like you may have a case of Ich. I would repost this in the fish emergencies for more knowledgeable responses. If it is Ich it can be successfully treated, but the earlier you start treating it, the better. HTH

Would be useful to know your water parameters, tank size, and types of fish. Also, if there's been changes to the tank set-up, how long you've had all the fish for, and exactly what the dots look like - size, where they are, a scattering of them or LOADS of them? etc. This will help diagnosis of the problem/
I had something similar with my rosy tertras, not long after I started keeping fish - looked just like itch, but fish were not itching or behaving differently, no other fish affected, etc.; I ended up treating them for itch and the white dots cleared up after about 10 days - could have been a coincidence, of course.
I think if similar happened again, i'd get the meds from the shop, but hold fire on using them until I was more certain of a diagnosis, or at least until they started looking off color or behaving differently.
In mean time, post more details and have a look at the pinned topics under emergencies section.
