I bought a dalmation molly from my LFS about a month or so ago and it was on the chubby side when I got it. I didn't think anything of it, but her stomach is really big now. I don't know how long it takes for fish to give birth to the fish. Is a month too long? What should I do? I went to another fish store today and looked at the other dalmation mollies and they are way skinnier than mine. I am worried because I don't want her to give birth and then have all the babies get eaten by other fish.

Sorry they are so blurry, I took them with my digital camera that had half-dead batteries.

Any advice?

from the pics yeah it posible she due very soon.

Unless you have a spear 5g to put her and raise the fry, I'd just leave her to it, and let the fry fend for themself.

DO NOT use a breeding net/trap, (called DEATH traps in this house.) it will only cause the female stress and she will more than likely die a day or so after birthing, also the fry will have stunted growth if raise in one, and be very very unhealthy.
