Is my aquarium doomed

I have a 29 gallon tank with a very nice emperor bio wheel filter (the one with 1 wheel not 2 as well as a nice underground filter i realize the fish i have may be too much (check out my sig for the fish). Is the aquarium doomed?

If there alive and healthy dont worry about it but dont add any more lol the good filter probably helps just make sure u dont miss your water changes they would be vital.

...how much do you know about spiny eels?

I know the bala shark gets pretty big as well as the angelfish
Once the bichir gets too big and begins to attack my fish i will move him into a 10 gallon all by himself

I don't know too much about spiney eels how big can they get

at the moment your tank is not overstocked, I work it out at about 22injches of fish, my 15g is able to take up to 24 inches of fish (supposedly, am currently up to 17). The length of fish you can accommodate is roughly related to the surface area of your water, as this determines the amount of oxygen which will dissolve into the tank.

22" of fish?!! Did you look at the adult sizes as you're supposed to when using the " per gallon guideling.

You are looking at 36" for the clown loach (which should be kept in groups of 3+), the bala (also in groups of 3+) and the spiny eel. Not sure about the temprament of the eel but the neons could be lunch. Angel fish need an 18" high tank and many afford them 10galls per fish in addition (so if you are looking at " per gallon, you are 10 gallons down straight away). The Bichir, I have just found to get to 20".

Cories should be kept in groups of at least 3, more is better. It's the same with tetra, the neons and phantoms should be in a large group.

From what I just read about Senegalus Bichir, they need a BIG tank, like 70-80gallons big. They are territorial and will eat small tank mates. Don't fancy the chances of the tetra or cory. Tobbs, sorry I also read they get to 20" and need a lot of swimming room.

I think your tank is in a bit of a mess to be honest and the best filter in the world is not going to give those fish the room, or companions that they need.

I am sorry, but I thought someone should be honest. Just because they are alive does not mean they are healthy. They may be fine now but not for long, they are at risk of stunting and being eaten. Not to mention the very lonely existence of your single schooling fish.

since your fish are small, they can survive for the monment, but you will need to think about getting a new, bigger, tank, or giving some fish away.

Not exactly sure about the spiny eel, but i would assume it will grow to be quite large.

Angelfish need a tank at least 18" tall, most 29 gallon tanks are about 15" tall

Bala sharks get over 25cm's and like to be kept in groups

Clown loaches also like to be kept in groups of 3 or more and they reach a length of 1'!

Cories also like to be kept in groups of 3 or more, the same with your tetra.

Like i said, unless you can get a much bigger tank, some of those fish may have to go

I looked up the spiny eel, it will reach 40cm (about 16" I think?), will attack your hand if you put it in the tank, and lurks half-buried in gravel waiting for small fish (e.g. neons) to go past, so it can eat them. here is a link to a profile of it - notice it says "do not keep with other fish".

You need to rectify the situation as soon as possible before your fish die from being either lonely, cramped, crowded, or stunted!
