First of all, I am new here, and I'm not real knowledgeable about keeping fish.
I lost most of my fish last week to ick, I'm afraid the ammonia got dangerously high - different subject though. What I'm concerned with right now is I had two angels that have been with me for over a year and one of them died last week
. I started over with my 30 gal. tank and have just put my remaining fish back in it (I only let it cycle 24 hours before adding the fish, but I've never had a problem before). Anyway, ever since I lost my other angel, this one hasn't been the same. With all the ick I thought he (I say he but I really don't know the sex) was getting sick too, but he looks okay so far; I'm not ready to buy new fish yet, I know that's not recommended, but... when I fed them last night, he wouldn't eat at all, and he's usually pretty aggressive when the food shows up.
I hope it's not a silly question, but does he need a new companion? I ask because my husband's mother had a couple of angels at one time that had been together for a while and when one of them died (cause unknown to me), the other one stopped eating and then died a few days later, she assumed it was loneliness.
