Is Minnie Pregnant

I got Minnie from my LPS just over two weeks ago. She was in a tank with males and females can anyone tell if she is pregnant. Sorry about the quality of the picture she swims away as soon as i get too close to the tank.

Can you see a dark gravid spot, most likely if she has been kept with males.

Yes, she's pregnant. I can see the darker patch by her anal fin, unless that's coloring? Though if you got her from a fish store, it's most likely she's been in with boys, which means she is most likely pregnant! Though just look by her anal fin, and see if it's a different color. Usually they are yellowish, orangish, or reddish in those colored Platies. You can also see if she gets noticeably fatter in the coming week.

I am personally betting she is pregnant though.

pretty much any livbearer you get from a lfs will be pregnant. yours appears to be preggo, so you should see fry periodically over about 2 weeks

Thanks i will just have to wait and see she is got a bit chubbier since i got her. Looks like she has a faint gravid spot. Guess i will have to wait and see.

She looks pregnant, at the moment the gravid patch looks orange but most likely you will soon see tiny black dots inside the patch, these will be the eyes of the baby fry, it won't be long after that and you should have some brand new baby fish.
