is melafix good to kill my bettas cotton mouth

Melafix states that it cures cottonmouth. I've used it to treat fungus and it seemed to do as promised.

Do you doubt it's effectiveness?

If so, Maracyn II is supposed to work for cottonmouth.

melafix does not harm the beneficial bacteria, I don't know about Maracyn. However, depending on who you ask, melafix is said to cause harm to the bettas labryinth organ.

Well melafix wouldn't be strong enough to kill fungus (In my experience) I usually use it to repair betta's fins if they are really ripped after breeding...as they don't destroy the beneficial bacteria, personally i would go for an anti-fungal medication not an all round one. I havn't really heard about the melafix harming the betta's labryinth organ...however now I don't think I want to use it again

OK, I hope the same thing goes for gouramis, they also have a labryinth organ, right. I was told to use that to help my kissers injured mouth.
Kossy, you said you use it on your bettas fins, Do you think it will work as good on a mouth injury? Anyone have experience using it for mouth injuries?

I don't think it's mouth rot, I could be wrong. But I think it's an injury from fighting.
I've had the 2 kissers for 7 months. One is twice the size of the other and the smaller one has a crooked mouth pretty much like this \. He has a hard time eating. I have only seen them fight 2 or 3 times, but then again I don't watch them 24/7. Anyone got any ideas other than melafix? I think I've just got to find him a new place to live.
